Artist: Beth Nybeck

Dates: 2014

Medium: Aluminum

Description:

This large work is the centerpiece of a fountain in front of the Olathe Community Center at the intersection of Kansas City Road and Ridgeview Road. The sculpture is made out of aluminum and stands 8 feet tall and is 8 feet wide and deep. Water bubbles up out of the sculpture's stone base and spills out of the bottom of the sculpture. Three smaller rocks jut out of a small rock garden with bubblers in each of them.

The sculpture is meant to convey a sense of unity in a city that is a collection of many parts. The Olathe Community Center was completed in 2014 and is meant to be a place where the many parts can come together.
