AKA Leawood City Hall Fountain
The land that the Leawood City Hall sits on was purchased by the Douthat Family in the 1930s. The children of the Douthats donated this land to the City of Leawood along with $50,000 for a fountain to honor their parents.
The fountains consists of a formation of rocks. The water is pumped up through a tube in the middle of the centermost and biggest rock and runs out and cascades over the other rocks into the pool below. The fountain is the centerpiece of the courtyard in front of the city building.
