Artist Wendell Castle is considered to be the founding father of American furniture art. The City of Leawood commissioned Castle to create this functional one-of-a-kind bronze bench. Castle's style incorporates both organic and geometric forms. This bench in Brook Beatty Park looks to be supported by upside-down flowers with a central trapezoidal shaft. The area around the bench is specially landscaped to display the piece.
