Description:
These two marble figures are located underneath an octagonal gazebo on the west side of the Church of the Nativity in Leawood. Christ is on the north and Mary is on the south. Christ has nail marks on his hand and his right hand is extended. Mary stands with both arms extended. Both figures face west.
They were originally part of a four figure set located at the old St. Mary's Hospital on Main Street in Kansas City, MO. When the hospital closed, the church purchased the figures of Christ and Mary. While they dedicated the figures in 1992, they weren't permanently installed until 1995.
