Description:

AKA Children with Their Door Key

By the early 1980s, Chinese parents were working parents. This meant that children had to go home from school by themselves. The children would wear their house keys hanging around their necks. These children have since grown up and become the backbone of modern China.

This sculpture is part of the International Sculpture Garden at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
