Medium: Bronze

Description:

AKA Accept or Reject

This work is a commentary on how we interact with the virtual world. The woman is choosing to take pictures of only parts of herself instead of her whole self, thereby deleting her own identity. Instead of focusing on her whole self, she is only presenting pieces of herself for the world to see.

This is probably the most well-known sculpture at the Overland Park Arboretum in that citizens have tried and are still trying to have the sculpture removed, even taking the City of Overland Park to court to attempt to do so. They want it removed because the sculpture has exposed breasts and say that it is inappropriate for children because "it encourages 'sexting' and pornographic images."

This sculpture is part of the International Sculpture Garden at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
